PeppNation Sports Leadership Camps MKE

PeppNation provides sports leadership and mentoring programs to youth throughout the school days and summer. Through tutoring, recess aid and nontraditional sports, the organization aims to form well-rounded students and citizens. Since its Milwaukee debut in 2012, PeppNation has given more than 14,000 Milwaukee youth exposure to a number of sports, scholarship opportunities and college advising.

​Founded in 2010, PeppNation provides sports leadership and mentoring programs to youth throughout the school days and summer. Through tutoring, recess aid and nontraditional sports, the organization aims to form well-rounded students and citizens.

“We are creating a pipeline of success for youth in Milwaukee,” Culpepper said.

“Our youth have learned that they are far greater than their ZIP codes.”

Le Tour De Waukee is a bike ride with children and Milwaukee Police Officers to help familiarize the kids with other areas of the city. The ride is sponsored by a number of different agencies, including PeppNation Sports Leadership Camps. The ride gave the kids a chance to familiarize themselves with the entire city and not just their own neighborhoods.

​But all children deserve opportunities to reach their fullest potential, and this could be achieved with a strong network of youth service organizations that collaborate, meet regularly, identify strategies and share best practices to ensure continued care. There are conversations involving Milwaukee Public Schools leaders and others about this goal, and I am hopeful those efforts will result in a universal and inclusive approach to coaching embraced by every Greater Milwaukee program serving youth.
